Traditional Mourning Ceremony with Swords in Qom

IQNA – People from Najaf, Iraq, residing in the holy city of Qom hold a special mourning ceremony during the first ten days of Muharram.

The “Mashq Shamshir” traditional ceremony refers to the move by Habib Ibn Mazahir on the night before Ashura, when he, accompanied by Hazrat Abass (AS) and the remaining companions, renewed their allegiance to Imam Hussein (AS).
