Forum Discusses Social Ideas in Quran
Addressing the forum, seminary scholar Hojat-ol-Islam Qazizadeh said there are three views about the presence of social ideas in the Holy Book.
He said the first view denies the existence of such ideas in the Quran while the second one says some social thoughts have been mentioned in the Holy Scripture.
According to the scholar, the advocates of the third view believe that Islam and verses of the Quran attach special importance to society and social issues.
He said that spreading justice and equality are among the objectives of the Quranic teachings and that the Holy Book underlines the need for strengthening social relations.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Qazizadeh referred to verse 200 of Surah Al-Imran "O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful," and said in interpreting this verse, Allameh Tabatabaee in his Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Holy Quran has written 60 pages discussing the relation between Islam and society.
He went on to say that according to Ayatollah Taleqani, this verse urges the faithful to enhance their social relations.
The forum of Social Ideas in Quran was held at the Quran exhibit on Friday night.
