TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Municipality of Tehran’s Cultural Commission has agreed to name some of the streets and squares in the city after prominent Quran masters, an official said.

Seyed Hossein Mousavi Baladeh told IQNA that names of a number of late Quran masters have been proposed so far, including Ebrahim Pourfarzib (Molayi), Mohammad Taqi Morovvat, Hossein Sobhdel and Mohammad Qaffari.

He said the cultural commission has given the greenlight for naming streets and squares after these Quranic figures but the process will take time and ultimately each naming should be voted at the Islamic City Council of Tehran.

Efforts will be made to choose thoroughfares close to where these figures lived to name after them, he went on to say.
