Need for Upholding Objectives of Karbala Uprising

Head of the Jabal Amel Council of Ulemas in southern Lebanon said the world will not change unless the slogans and objectives of Imam Hussein (AS) uprising are upheld.

Sheik Afif al-Nabulsi made the remark in a mourning ceremony in the city of Sidon marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

“If we hold fast to the teachings of Imam Hussein (AS), we will be able to destroy Israel,” he added.

He also noted that the situation in Lebanon will not change for the better unless there is a reform movement from within the Lebanese society based on the teachings of Imam Hussein (AS) uprising.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheik al-Nabulsi elaborated on the features of a society of Mutaqin (the God-fearing) and said such a society is known by its unity, fraternity, ethical qualities and patriotism.

He added that when the world reaches such a state of perfection and Taqwa, it will be filled with justice and equality.
