Iran Holds Book Exhibition in Kazakhstan

A book exhibition was opened at the National Library of the Academy of Sciences in the Republic of Kazakhstan by Iranian Cultural Center in Astana, the capital city.


According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, the exhibition has been held from November 14 on the occasion of the Iranian Book Week.



The opening ceremony of the book fair was addressed by Asghar Ali Beik, head of the library, who stated that there is a good cooperation between the library and the Iranian center.



He said that during his visit to Iran, he became acquainted with the great status of book and promotion of book-reading culture in the Islamic Republic.



He had also visited the Iranian National Library and considered it as a treasury of manuscripts and valuable sources in Persian and other languages in various fields.



 He believed that the exhibition is a good opportunity for Kazakh people to know about Iranian books and literature.



Seifi, Iranian ambassador to Kazakhstan, appreciated the cooperation between the officials of the library and the Iranian cultural center to organize the exhibition.



He said that considering the good relations and commonalities between the two countries, is it very important to hold such exhibitions which will result in promotion of mutual cooperation and understanding.



Saberi, Iranian cultural attaché in Kazakhstan, also thanked the officials of the library for their cooperation with the center and introduced the exhibition and the products presented by the center.



Studies of Iran, studies of Islam, Persian language and literature, philosophy, mysticism, encyclopedias and dictionaries are among the book titles displayed at the exhibition.



The book fair will be underway for one week and is due to conclude with a forum to be held on “investigation of the status of book and book-reading”.
