Explosions Target Iran Embassy in Beirut

Nearly twenty people have been killed and 50 others injured in two bomb explosions outside the Iranian Embassy in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The incident took place on Tuesday in Beirut’s southern neighborhood of Jinah.

Iran’s cultural attaché was also severly  injured.
It was not clear what has caused the blasts, but initial reports indicated that there were two car bombs.
The main gate of the Iranian Embassy was blown out by the first explosion, and the second blast happened just meters away from the embassy.
The Iranian Embassy said that all its personnel are safe and sound following the attacks.
Security guards at the embassy together with several others have reportedly been wounded.
The blasts also caused damage to the embassy and the nearby buildings.
