The Egyptian National Archives Center has begun repairing Quran copies and historical manuscripts in its possession.

Head of the center Abdul Wahid Al-Nabawi said the repairs are done by a special section at the center, vetogate.com website reported.

He said the section was founded in 2004 in cooperation with Spain and that the Mus’haf of Othman, which is one of the oldest manuscript copies of the Quran  kept in the center, has been among the copies already repaired.

Another copy is the 13 Musahif, an ancient copy endowed by one of the kings of the Mamalik dynasty,   which took three years of work to be repaired.

The large manuscript copy has 412 pages each measuring 105 centimeters by 79 centimeters.
