The center was inaugurated in a ceremony held by the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) in the holy mausoleum.
According to the Astan’s public relations office, a number of religious officials as well as directors of different sections of the Custodianship were present at the ceremony held Sunday night.
Shiekh Abdul Mahdi Karbalayi, custodian of the holy shrine, in an address to the event said religious propagation is a religious duty and that preachers should pay due attention to ethical, educational and ideological aspects of propagation.
He underlined that religious propagators serve as a role model for others in society.
Sheikh Abdul Rasoul Al-Qaffari, director of Karbala Supreme Islamic Center, also delivered a speech speaking about the center’s planned activities.
He said the center will hold 4-year educational programs in which students study Fiqh (jurisprudence), ethical and ideological subject.
Al-Qaffari added that students will also be taught Hadith sciences, Quranic sciences, and philosophy.
