Qatari Representatives Win Preliminary Stage of Saudi Arabia Int’l Quran Contest

Qatari representatives at the 35th international Quran contest in Saudi Arabia succeeded to win top ranks in two categories of the preliminary stage of the competition.

According to Al-Arab newspaper, Hamd Abdullah Taher and Zeid Rashed Abuquba were selected as the top participants respectively in the categories of memorization of 20 and 10 Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran along with recitation and Tajweed principles.

This edition of the international contest on memorization, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran is underway in the Grand Mosque in Makkah with 164 participants from 71 Arab and Islamic countries.

The participants compete in five categories including memorization of the entire Quran

Top participants of the preliminary stage will compete at the final stage of the international contest in Saudi Arabia.
