More Quran Desecration in Saudi Arabia

Government bodies in Saudi Arabia say copies of the Holy Quran have been found in the sewage system in Taef province.

Police and members of the Committee for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice took out the copies, Al-Hayat daily reported.

Police have begun investigation into the case to identify those behind this act of desecration.

A member of the Committee for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice said a student found the copies on his way to return home from school and his father informed the police.

He said security forces have intensified their fight against sorcery and witchcraft as they are almost sure that sorcerers have been behind the criminal act.

This is not the first time the Holy Quran is desecrated in Saudi Arabia. Earlier this year, insult to the Holy Book by prison officials in Al-Haer province led to protests in different parts of the country.
