Translatology Conference to Feature Quran Translation

Dean of the Foreign Languages Faculty of Islamic Azad University, Tehran Branch, said the university is holding a translatology conference on Sunday, December 29.

Mohammad Ziar told IQNA that translation of the Holy Quran will be the theme of the first edition of the national scientific conference.

He said 85 papers were submitted to the secretariat of the scientific event, 12 of which were selected to be presented at the conference and published.

He referred to the difficulties in translating the Quran’s metaphors, investigating the Persian translations of the Quran and effects of the context in translating the Quran as some of the issues to be discussed at the conference.

According to Mr. Ziar, the Quran and Hadith Scientific Society, Allameh Qotb Ravandi Institute, and the Azad-andishvarzan Higher Education Institute have cooperated in organizing the conference.
