Ongoing Investigations in Saudi Arabia for Identifying Those Desecrating Quran

Police in the city of Taif, Saudi Arabia, say investigations continue to identify those behind desecration of the Holy Quran.

People found dozens of copies of the Quran discarded in the city’s street sewerage canals last week.

Later in the week, 10 more copies in different sizes were found in the sewage canal.

Saudi sources say a special committee has been set up for overseeing the investigations, Akhbar24 website reported.

The incident was reported by a local student, who saw the copies on his way home in Al-Salama district of Taif, Abdel Aziz Hussein Al-Ahdal said.

Police and members from the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice then went to the place and retrieved the copies.
