The media wing of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, known as Daesh, has posted a statement on Twitter, claiming responsibility for the bombing, Akhbar Al-Arab website reported.
In the statement, Daesh insulted Shia Muslims and said the attack was only a small part of what Hezbollah should expect to face.
A car bomb explosion in a southern suburb of Beirut on Thursday, January 2, left 4 people dead and 77 others wounded.
It was the first attack on the Harra Harrik area that has been reconstructed after the 33-day war between Lebanon and the Zionist regime in 2006.
The terrorist bombing took place after the arrest of Majid Al-Majid, head of a terrorist group that carried out last month’s attack in front of the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
