Iran, Malaysia to Enhance Cooperation in Islamic-Quranic Art

Iranian cultural attaché in Malaysia and director of Malaysia’s Yayasan Restu Quranic Foundation stressed the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of Islamic and Quranic art.

According to IQNA’s branch in East Asia, in a meeting held on January 27 in Malaysia, Ali Akbar Ziyayi, the Iranian official gifted a precious work of calligraphy created by Akbar Saatchi, Iranian artist, to Datuk Abdul Latif Mirasa, the director of the foundation.

The Iranian representative appreciated the cooperation of the foundation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Malaysia and invited the director and artists of the foundation to visit cultural and Quranic centers in Iran.

Mirasa, for his part, said that the workshops held by the Iranian artist at the foundation was a valuable and positive experience and expressed hope that long-term workshops will be organized for artists of the two countries in cooperation with the center.

He added that the Tehran international book fair slated to be held in May will be a good opportunity to travel to Iran and visit Quranic and cultural centers of the country.

The Restu Foundation was established in 1988 as a non-profit organization under Companies Act 1965. It aims to spread the message of Islam throughout the world, to strengthen the faith of Muslims and revive the field of Islamic arts.
