The Al-Nusra terrorist group, an offshoot of Al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the deadly bombing in the Lebanese city of Hermel.

The group posted a statement on Twitter, saying that it was behind the Saturday night attack, Al-Manar network reported.
A car bomb went off inside a gas station in the border city of Hermel on Saturday, killing at least three people and wounding 20 others.
Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, Vice President of Lebanon’s Higher Islamic Shiite Council, condemned the terrorist attack, saying it was carried out by criminals who only know the language of killing, destruction and hatred.
He said that by killing innocent civilians, terrorism has targeted Lebanon’s unity and security. The senior cleric added that confronting Takfiri terrorism requires a national resolve.
The UN Security Council has also condemned the bobming, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice, Pres TV reported.
The Security Council issued a statement on Saturday, urging Lebanese people to “preserve national unity in the face of attempts to undermine the country’s stability.”
