Qatar Selects Representatives to Int’l Quran Competitions

Qatar’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs ministry has released the names of the country’s representatives to international Quran contests.

The Quran and Quranic Sciences Department of the ministry released a list of 22 Quran reciters and memorizers for representing Qatar in international Quranic events in Muslim countries.
It said those selected by the department will take a two-week course to be prepared for international competitions.
Yusuf Ashir, head of the department, urged the group to make endeavors to better prepare themselves to be good representatives for Qatar in international Quranic events.
