Iranian Nation Will Not Succumb to US Bullying
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the statement while addressing a gathering of thousands of people from the northwestern city of Tabriz on Monday.
His Eminence referred to the February 11 rallies, held across the country to mark the 35th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory, and said the slogans people chanted in the rallies had two main messages, namely steadfastness and unity.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the insulting remarks made recently by some US officials and said the Iranian nation, on February 11, responded to such remarks and slapped the US officials in the face.
The Supreme Leader stressed that one of the reasons for the nation’s more massive and enthusiastic presence in February 11 rallies this year was the impudence of American officials.
The message of the Iranian nation in Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies to all the officials was that the nation is steadfast and that the officials should not feel weakness in facing the enemy, His Eminence said.
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that Iran’s nuclear issue is but a pretext for the US enmity with Iran, adding that if the nuclear issue is resolved, the Americans will turn to another issue.
His Eminence also slammed the US for accusing Iran of violation of human rights and, pointing out examples of human rights violations by the US in the world, wondered how the American officials, with such a dark record, are not ashamed to talk about human rights.
The Supreme Leader went on to say that, with the grace of God, the objectives of the US and world arrogance against the Iranian nation and the Islamic establishment will fail and that the Iranian nation will celebrate its victory against the ill-wishers.
The gathering of the people of Tabriz was held in Tehran to mark the anniversary of the 1978 uprising of the Tabriz citizens against the US-backed Pahlavi rule.
