Qatari Students Compete in Nat’l Quran Contest

The 53rd edition of the national Quran competition for school students is to begin in Qatar tomorrow, March 2.

The contest is annually organized by Qatar’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry in cooperation with the country’s Supreme Education Council, Al-Sharq website reported.
According to Sayyid Yusuf Ali Hassan Al-Muazzin, an official with the Quran memorization schools authority, the competition shows Qatar’s attention to promotion of Quran memorization and recitation.
He said the contest is held at two levels in different sections for boys and girls.
