Academic Islamic Studies in Muslim World to Be Investigated in Qatar

A forum titled “Academic Islamic Studies in the Muslim world; Challenges and Perspectives” will be held today, June 18 in the University of Qatar.


According to Al-Raya newspaper, the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies of Qatar University is the organizer of the forum to be hosted by Ibn Khaldun Conference hall of the faculty.

Introducing the features of Islamic sciences, promoting evaluation standards of Islamic sciences making use of the successful experiences in this respect and getting acquainted with the most recent academic systems and contemporary educational theories are the main objectives of the forum.

It is noted that development of the higher education is an international issue and important in the international level. The higher education is the base of stable development in the shadow of important factors which necessitates continuous revision and innovation of educational programs.

The forum will focus on the fact that contemporary academic Islamic researches can be developed like other sciences and that such researches need criticism, analysis and evaluations to pave the way for further developments.
