“Revelation of Mercy” Quran Festival to Be Held in London
The festival will include a National Quran Competition, the Love Quran Arts Competition and the Revelation of Mercy video competition and will feature renowned speakers and a series of lectures to enhance understanding of the Holy Quran in preparation for the holy month of Ramadhan.
The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is going to hold the festival for the second consecutive year to promote love and unity.
Quran Competition
This competition will be based in London and is open to all Muslims. The pre-entry test will be held at the Islamic center of England on 15th June in three categories of Tajweed recitation (for men), Tarteel recitation (for women) and Quran memorization of the 30th chapter (5 – 14 years boys and girls).
The successful contestants will compete in the final round on Wednesday 18th of June at the festival. Winners will be announced and awarded their prizes there.
Islamic Art competition
For the second year running, Love Quran Festival will be holding an Islamic Art Competition under the theme of “Islamic Unity”.
This year, Love Quran will be running the competition in collaboration with their official Art Partners, the Ahlan Art gallery - an Islamic Art Gallery based in London. Ahlan Art are pioneers in creating a new narrative for Islamic Art. Through presenting a number of internationally recognised Islamic artists, they have gained a large following and interest in the UK and abroad. As well as running exhibitions and workshops globally, Ahlan Art will be co-hosting and running this year’s Islamic Art Competition.
This is a unique opportunity for participants to be exhibited side by side with world renowned artists. The finalists will be selected by three Ahlan Art judges, who will be present during the festival. A total of 25 finalists will be selected and their artwork will be exhibited alongside Ahlan Art during the Love Quran festival at Porchester Hall, London. Deadline for submissions: Saturday, 7th June 2014 at 10 pm.
Film Competition
Love Quran festival 2014 will be hosting a Film competition. “Deliver a message to unite all Muslims under the banner of the Quran” is the topic that has been chosen for the competition.
Also an exhibition of Holy Quran manuscripts and translations will be held on the sideline of the festival.
