Hezbollah leader said the outcome of the Syrian presidential election and an end to backing Takfiri and terrorist groups should be the basis of a political solution for the country's crisis.

Secretary General of the Lebanese resistance movement Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah on Friday said it is not enough for some countries to put Syria armed groups in their terrorist lists but they should stop supporting terrorists and Takfiris.
He made the remark while addressing a ceremony held in the Lebanese capital of Beirut to commemorate Allameh Sheikh Mustafa Qasir.
Nasrallah said that while certain countries made their best to disrupt the election in Syria, these attempts were futile.
Noting that millions of Syrians went to the polls and stood in long queues to cast their ballot, he described the massive turnout in the election as a great accomplishment for Syria's leadership.
He said the election outcome demonstrated that Syria's leader is popular and that the war underway in the country is not one between the people and the state.
On Wednesday, Syria’s incumbent leader Bashar al-Assad was announced as the winner of the country’s presidential election.
Assad won 88.7 percent of the vote, or 10,319,723 of 11,634,412 votes cast in Tuesday’s election, according to the official SANA news agency.
Following the announcement, crowds took to streets throughout the country to celebrate the victory of the incumbent president.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Over 160,000 people have reportedly been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by the foreign-backed militants.
According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hezbollah leader referred to the situation in Lebanon and said the main factor that will ensure stability in the country is peace in the political, religious and sectarian discourse.
Nasrallah underlined that it is upon the Lebanese to cooperate for ensuring stability in the country.
