The statement, signed by 151 lawmakers, described the competition, which was held with the participation of representatives from 70 countries, as glorious, Fars news agency reported.
The MPs also noted that people received the competition well and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution also praised it.
The legislators further underlined their support for the elevation of the level of Quran competitions and development of Quranic activities.
The 31st edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran's International Holy Quran Competition kicked off in the capital, Tehran, on May 26.
120 reciters and memorizers of the Quran representing more than 70 countries competed in the contest, which concluded on June 2.
The awarding ceremony was held on Monday, June 3, with the participation of senior officials including Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
