Vali Yarahmadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, told IQNA that Ali Reza Feizi will represent the Islamic Republic in the 11th edition of Algeria International Holy Quran Competition.
The North African country's capital of Algiers will host the event from the 20th to 26th of the holy month of Ramadan (July 11-17).
66 countries are expected to take part in the competition, which will be held at Dar al-Imam Muhammadiya under the patronage of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The contest will have two sections: the international section for contenders under 25 years of age and the national section for Algerian Quran memorizers under 15.
Yarahmadi further said Iran will be represented in the 22nd International Quran Competition of Jordan by Mojtaba Fardfani.
The Jordanian international Quranic event is annually held in the holy month of Ramadan on memorization, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran.
Quran memorizer Mohammad Khakpour participated in the last edition of the competition for Iran.
