Algeria Int'l Quran Contest to Conclude Tomorrow

The 11th International Holy Quran Competition of Algeria will come to an end on Thursday, July 24.

According to the website of Algeria's Ministry of Religious Affairs, winners of the contest will be announced and honored at the closing ceremony tomorrow night.
The competition began on Thursday, July 17, in the Algerian capital city of Algiers under the supervision of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Representatives from 66 countries attended the international section of the event, which was held for Quran reciters and memorizers under the age of 25.
It also included a national section where teenagers under the age of 15 competed for the top prize.
Algeria's religious affairs ministry, the organizer of the competition, said it was held with the aim of promoting memorization of the Holy Quran.
Ali Reza Feizi represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in Algeria's international Quranic event.
