Data Bank of Muslim World Students' Quranic Theses to Be Launched

Head of the Iranian Academics' Quranic Activities Organization (IAQAO) said a data bank containing the Quranic theses of Muslim world students is planned to be established.

Speaking Friday on Quran Radio, Hamid Saber Farzam said the University Jihad (Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research-ACECR) will launch the data bank.
He said Iran's Imam Reza (AS) Institute has started collecting Quranic theses and so far has managed to collect 22,000 theses written by Iranian academics.
"We at the IAQAO will help the institute catalog Quranic theses in a larger scale" Saber Farzam stated, adding that efforts will be made in cooperation with the ministries of science and health to help university students use Quranic and religious sources in their researches in different fields. 
He also noted that the ACECR is planning to set up a research center for interdisciplinary Quranic studies to investigate themes like Quran and political sciences, Quran and economics, Quran and medicine, etc.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Saber Farzam elaborated on his organization's activities and said it has so far held 4 editions of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students and plans to organize the fifth edition early next year.
He also said the International Quran News Agency (IQNA), an affiliate of the IAQAO, is currently publishing news articles on Quranic and religious issues in 14 languages.
