Addressing a congress of Muslim world scholars in support of Palestinian resistance, Sheikh Qassem added that Takfiris do not represent Islam but clearly violate the religion's tenets.
He further praised the resistance of the Palestinians against the Zionist regime and said Palestine has achieved victory against the occupying regime several times, including in the 51-war which has just ended in Gaza.
The Israeli military unleashed aerial attacks on Gaza in early July and later expanded its military campaign with a ground invasion into the Palestinian territory. Over 2,130 Palestinians lost their lives and some 11,000 were injured in the raids. Tel Aviv also says 68 Israeli soldiers have died in the war, but Palestinian resistance movement Hamas puts the number at more than 150.
Sheikh Qassem said Israel in this war did its best to legitimize its occupation and aggression but failed.
He underlined that combating Israel is not possible through Western means and the United Nations but only through Islamic resistance and the power of Muslims.
"Palestine is our first priority. Thus, we should make all-out efforts to support it and materialize the objectives of Palestinian resistance," the senior Hezbollah official stated.
He also lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran's major role in supporting the cause of Palestine.
The congress of Muslim world scholars in support of Palestinian resistance kicked off in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday morning.
200 prominent scholars and political figures from various countries are attending the international gathering.
