Quran Translation Gifted to European Council Chief

Egypt's grand Mufti gifted a copy of Quran translation in English to president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.

Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam presented the translation of the Holy Book to Van Rompuy during a meeting in the Belgian capital of Brussels.
The grand Mufti's visit was aimed at correcting the distorted image of Islam in Europe.
In the meeting, Allam said Egypt's Dar-al-Ifta (which is responsible for issuing Fatwas- religious edicts) is ready to cooperate in introducing true Islam to Europeans.
He underlined that the Dar-al-Ifta and Al-Azhar Islamic Center reject terrorism and violence in the name of religion.
Allam also stressed that what the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has nothing to do with Islam.
