Over one million Lebanese Shias commemorated Ashura across the country amid tight security with the southern suburbs of Beirut being the epicenter of the mourning gatherings, Press TV reported.
Hezbollah’s leader also downplayed Israeli threats against Lebanon saying that the resistance is never distracted from being ready in the south.
Nasrallah also slammed Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories and the escalation of violence in the al-Aqsa Mosque warning that the holy site is in real danger.
He called on all Muslims to defend the mosque against Israel. Despite the continuous Takfiri threats of targeting Ashura processions especially against Hezbollah supporters, tens of thousands have turned up with even more passion to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam.
People of all ages marched to the scene fearlessly chanting and beating their chests.
Shia Muslims all over the world remember the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) along with 72 of his companions in Karbala. They shed tears for those who stood against the tyrants of their time.
