--A new Quranic book titled “Quran and Defense” is to be published by late autumn.
According to Hossein Alavimehr, the author, the book examines defense and Islamic Jihad in view of the holy Quran and the interpretations of the Quran.

It also features Istishhadi (martyrdom seeking) operations and confirms the fact that terrorism has no place in Islam.

Hossein Alavimehr, who is an academic board member of the World Center for Islamic Sciences, says “Unfortunately, there are all sorts of accusations targeted at Islam and there are attempts to display a distorted image of Islam as a religion that endorses terrorism. I, in this book, try to respond to these accusations and provide evidence that in Islam terrorism is condemned, while legitimate defense is sanctioned.”

“For writing this book, I have consulted various Shiite and Sunni interpretations and exegeses of the holy Quran in order to get a comprehensive view of defense as pictured in the Quran,” he notes.

“Quran and Defense” is to be published by the publications office of the Center for Research on Islamic Culture and Thought.
