Quran Shows Us How to Respond to Insults: Iraqi Cleric
--The Quranic verse "And the servants of Allah Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"(Holy Quran, 25:63) shows how Muslims can deal with insults to Isalm.
This is according to Ayatollah Fazel Al-Jaberi, Iraqi instructor of prestigious Islamic seminary of Qom, who in an interview with IQNA said that insulting Islam is not something new and from early days of the advent of the noble religion of Islam enemies and pagans launched massive waves of insults to holy Quran and holy prophet (pbuh).
Holy Quran beautifully provides Muslims with guidelines to deal with insults and affronts of non-believers. In the verse 63 of Surah Forqan the holy Quran says "And the servants of Allah Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!", which promotes logical and peaceful confrontation.
Al-Jaberi went on to say that trend of insulting Islam is unchanged and only tactics have changed. In cotemporary world a plethora of biased satellite channels, websites and powerful Media outlets promote islamophobia by airing anti-Islamic materials.
"There is no doubt that such moves are not the acts of some individuals or lonely fanatics but it is clear that international Zionism, aiming to confront the rapid growth of the noble religion of Islam, is behind the scene coordinating such malicious moves," Aljaberi pointed out.
Further in his remarks Al-Jaberi deplored the negligence towards holy Quran among Muslims, saying, "Muslims should launch Quranic campaign through understanding lofty and deep meanings of holy Quran, through extensive research and putting Quranic concepts into practice."
Cause of Insults
Al-Jaberi who teaches in prestigious Islamic seminary of Qom slammed Western countries for their all-out support for those who blatantly insult sanctities of 1.2 billion people, saying, " Today, many western citizens are trying to get more information on the noble religion of islam because Western culture and civilization, despite having impressive technological advancements, has failed to respond to spiritual needs of its people."
"Today, even western ideologies have lost their voice and influence among western people and such realities have turned the heart of truth-seeking people towards the shining sun of Islam.
"Enemies of Islam try to present an anti-progress and bogy-like image of the Abrahamic religion of Islam in order to realize their malicious objectives, but Islam scholars and unbiased researchers will expose their lies when they come to know the realties of this heavenly religion,"
"No country or individual is entitled to insult others' sanctities under the pretext of freedom of expression because freedom of expression is a right that should be defined in relation with other people."
Ways of Dealing with Anti-Islamism
Distinguished Iraqi writer and researcher elsewhere in his remarks, said that if Muslims want to deal with waves of anti-Islamism in contemporary world, they should first resort to founding principles of the noble religion of Islam. They shouldn’t waver at the face of massive anti-Islamism campaign. They also ought to launch a massive worldwide Islam awareness campaign to introduce the true image of Islam to all people of the world.
