Islamic-Christian Dialogue Promotion Discussed in Syria
-- Islamic-Christian dialogue promotion was the main topic of the meeting between Syrian Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) Mohammad Abdel-Sattar al-Sayed and the Swede Ecclesiastic Delegation.
Syrian Minister of Endowments on Monday discussed with Swede Ecclesiastic Delegation headed by Bernard Fast ways of bolstering cooperation between the two sides particularly promoting Islamic-Christian dialogue.
Mr. Fast indicated that the visit is preparatory for a larger delegation representing the Swede Churches to Syria next spring.
The delegation members aim at getting familiarized with the Unique Syrian sample of the national unity and the Islamic-Christian fraternity, al-Sayed clarified.
On the other hand, the Grand Mufti of Syria Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun met with the delegation and discussed with them means of boosting Islamic-Christian dialogue and clergymen's role in that.
