-- Learning the Holy Quran by heart requires 3 years or so in order to fix the verses in mind along the way.
This is according to high profile Quranic figure Shahriar Parhizkar who is currently serving as a member of the jury panel at the 33rd Awqaf National Quran Competition, which is being held in Yazd city.
Those interested in memorizing the Noble Quran need to take some points into consideration, he said, such as determination, patience, enough attention, and perseverance.
“An appropriate way of memorizing would be one through which memorizers can keep in mind around 80% of what they already learned by heart for two weeks without having reviewed the verses in question."
Highlighting the fact that memorization of the Holy Quran must be done consciously, Prahizkar said that a visual approach results in much more success for beginners rather than audio-based methods. Taking less time and energy, the latter can be applied by those not willing to pursue the practice professionally, he noted.
