Judges of Int’l Quran Contest in Saudi Arabia Introduced

Saudi Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced the names of judges at the 33rd edition of international Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation in the country.
According to Sabq online newspaper, the ministry announced that this edition of the contest will be supervised by 4 judges from Saudi Arabia and 6 judges from Arab and Islamic countries.
Salman ibn Mohammad Al-Amri, head of the Committee for Public Relations and Disseminations of the contest said: Ibrahim ibn Sa’eed Aldsari, Emad ibn Zahir Hafez, Sheikh Sa’ud ibn Abdulaziz Alghanim and Salem Mahmoud Mahmoud Al-Shanqiti are the Saudi judges of the competition.
He added that Ahmad Issa Hassan Al-Ma’sarawi from Egypt, Sheikh Samih Ahmad from Jordan, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Mokhtar Al-Qasem Mohammad Al-Amin from Mauritania, Sheikh Abdul Malek Abd Manaf Taher Lazem from Malaysia, Taher Mohammad Rasul Hakim from Pakistan and Shiekh Sadeq Sediq Zawiyah from Nigeria will also judge the contest.
The Quranic competition will be held in the holy city of Makkah under the patronage of the king of Saudi Arabia from 23rd to 30th of Muharram.
161 participants from 53 countries will attend this edition of the contest. 18 will compete in memorization of the entire Quran with Tajweed and interpretation of Quranic terms, 45 in memorization of the entire Quran with recitation and Tajweed, and 38, 40 and 18 in memorization of 20 parts (Juzes) of the Quran, 10 parts and 5 parts of the Quran with Tajweed and recitation respectively.
Over 100 Saudi Rials have been allocated to the winners of the contest.
