Defending the Oppressed against US Tyrannies, A Must for IRI
Iranian Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani highlighted the IRI’s friendly interactions with the neighboring countries, adding that Iran considers it essential to defend all the oppressed against the US despotism and dispel its plots to create discord among Shia and Sunni Muslims.
In his first Majlis talk in the new Iranian year (started on March 20), Larijani appreciated the country’s high capacity for national growth and preserving the security of the region as well as its rich agricultural resources that can reduce the amount of import and support the domestic production.
“Majlis has been concerned about the unrestrictive import of agricultural products and supporting farmers and stock breeders in the subsidy reform plan,” he went on to say, urging the officials to devote their full energy to the issues in the new year.
Referring to the country’s promising capacity in mine and industry, he added: “The sectors have shown an acceptable record in export that can be an incentive for developing non-petrol export.”
“However, there have been some deficiencies including those in management strategies and the implementation of the subsidy reform plan that have hindered the industrial growth.”
Larijani emphasized that Majlis is determined to consider the administration of the second phase of the plan with more care to improve the state of production and employment and control the rate of inflation.
“The government’s decision to increase the amount of subsidy payments is in stark opposition with the law and will push up inflation and unemployment,” he noted, calling for the officials’ cooperation to dispel the sanctions in support of national production.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani referred to “Friends of Syria” Conference that was held in Istanbul, adding: “It was actually meant to breathe a new life into the Zionist Regime, as the US, Britain and certain other countries in the region are overtly trying to create more disorder in Syria and subvert the regional resistance against Israel.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly warned the regional countries of the US plot to oppress and sell them weapons while it has supported the recent uprisings in Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya regardless of their religious inclinations.”
Addressing the participants in the conference, Larijani asserted: “If you are worried about democracy in the region, why are you silent about the violent dictatorship in Bahrain and other countries? Beware not to give Israel a new chance now that is has become politically isolated.”
“Majlis supports the democratic reforms in Syria but is against dishonest cries for democracy through unfair conspiracies,” he further added.
