Armenian Quran Translator Honored

In a ceremony held in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, Azim Edvard Haqverdian was honored for rendering the Holy Quran into Armenian.
Held on the occasion of Haqverdian’s 60th birthday, the ceremony was attended by Iranian and Armenian writers and artists.
The Quran translator and artist received Armenian Culture Ministry’s golden medal of honor at the function.
Later in the program, Iranian Cultural Attaché in Yerevan Mehran Shiravand praised Haqverdian’s works and said such figures are an honor for the two neighborly and friendly nations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia.
The ceremony also featured the release of Haqverdian’s new poetry book as well as an exhibition of his paintings.
The Quran translation by Edvard Haqverdian was published in 1223 pages by Armenia’s Hyastan Publications in 2007.
