In a conference held on April 7, discussions were held on launching a social network for Muslims.
According to IQNA’s West and Southwest Asia branch, the conference was organized in Istanbul with the participation of 200 individuals from 30 Islamic countries.
The attendees decided to launch the network, called Salam World, in the coming weeks. The Islamic Countries Entrepreneurs Group, made up of eminent figures like former Malaysian premier Mahatir Mohamad will support the project.
During Saturday conference, Roshan Abbasov, head of the international office of the Russian Muftis Office and a member of the network’s managing board, said it will belong to all Muslims and will not be a political website.
He said the network will cover different issues related to the Islamic world, including Islamic economy, Halal products, theology, etc.
Abbasov noted that there are over 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, most of whom are worried about the influences of corrupt websites on their children, adding that the Salam World Network will help Muslims connect to each other without any worries.
The network will be launched in 8 languages, including English, Russian, and French, in a few weeks.
