Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and the members of Amal Movement have the utmost respect for beliefs and values of other cultures and religions.
In his interview with IQNA, Khalil Hamdan, a member of the Amal presiding board, said that “Respecting the followers of different religious sects and cultures is seriously practiced by all members of the Lebanese Resistance Movement and its secretary general, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in particular.”
“Nasrallah has strong and friendly relations with followers of different Islamic sects and Lebanese Christians which, in fact, foster the interactions between Hezbollah and Lebanese National Movement in the country,” he went on to say.
“Also, Nabih Berri, speaker of the parliament of Lebanon, insists on developing more interactions with various Islamic sects, and is determined to invite eminent scholars from Qom and Najaf Seminaries to discuss the issue in the near future.”
Highlighting the significance of interfaith dialogue in Lebanon, Hamdan added: “The issue was also much emphasized by Imam Musa Sadr, founder of Amal Movement, and is hoped to go beyond the national level and be pursued in the region.”
He further referred to Hezbollah’s influential role and responsibilities in dealing with the Zionists’ threats and oppressive deeds in Quds (Jerusalem).
“Quds is regarded a holy place by all Muslims and Christians and the evacuation of the city, in Imam Musa Sadr’s opinion, would mean relinquishing their religious beliefs.”
“Fighting with the Zionists and occupying Regime of Israel is a key part of the culture and ideology of late Imam Khomeini (RA) and Imam Musa Sadr, and is currently followed by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Nabih Berri and all other activists in Resistance Movement.”
“Religious sanctities are as important to us as the national lands and borders,” he noted.
