The government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan ought to do more to support Quranic activities in the country, an Afghan Quran expert said.
Javad Ahmadian, who is an instructor at Jebreil Quran Institute in Herat, in an interview with IQNA’s Central Asia branch added that support for Quranic and religious activities in Afghanistan is more significant than before because anti-religious ideas and thought have been spreading in the country as a result of the cultural onslaught [of the West].
He regarded learning Quranic sciences as a need for followers of Islam and urged Quran experts and all the devotees of the Book of God to strive to foster Quranic activities, including Quranic education.
On activities of Jebreil Quran Institute, he noted that it has made considerable achievements in recent years, adding that the Herat-based institute has trained 5000 reciters of the Quran, including 30 international reciters.
