According to IQNA’ branch in Europe, the competition was organized by the Office for Muslims’ Religious Affairs to mark “2012, Year of the Holy Quran”.
Some 60 individuals including boys and girls participated in the event. The contest was supervised by a jury panel comprised of Elmir Hasanov, Muslim Karimov and Elyas Hazrat, Quran experts and teachers of the Center for Training Quran Memorizers of the Islamic University of Russia in Kazan.
9-year-old Ahmad Seyf, 7-year-old Gabed Al-Malek Pirnazarov, and 11-year-old Alnoor Homayeddinov won the first to third ranks in boys' category, respectively.
In girls' section, 8-year-old Muslimah Hasan Awa, Zuliya Sadeq Awa and 12-year-old Elsia Eshaq Awa were the three top winners of the contest.
3-year-olds Kameleh Zarif Awa and Adeleh Karim Awa were also awarded at the closing ceremony of the contest.
