It was organized by the Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Quranic Activities in different categories of memorization, and Quranic concepts.
Head of the center’s education department Morteza Khedmatkar told IQNA that the exam was held at different levels (preliminary and advanced) for different age groups (teenagers, youths and adults).
It included questions on Quran translation and Arabic grammar, too, he said.
According to the official, some 50,000 Quran learners, who had registered online, took the exam this year while the number of the participants in the 7th edition was around 37,000.
The highest number of participants this year were from Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan and Kerman provinces, respectively, he noted.
Khedmatkar further pointed to the 0.5 percent plan (based on which 0.5 of the annual budget of government bodies is allocated for Quranic activities) and hoped that Quranic education programs will develop when the funds are made available.
