This is according to Turkish scholar artist Farhad Kurlu, who speaking to IQNA added that the unique wording of the Quran, the rhythm of the verses, and logical link between the Surahs are all indications that it is Divine.
He said there was nothing in the Arab literature which could be categorized outside the two styles of prose and poetry. “That is why when the Holy Prophet (PBUH) read verses of the Quran, which were not in either of the two styles, all people would be influenced.”
Kurlu said Arab literary experts have been amazed at the systemic order that can be found in the Holy Book. “Although there are different verses in the Quran talking about various issues, the Surahs of the Holy Book are semantically related and their eloquence is beyond what men can do.”
Prayer leader of Abdul Hamid Khan II Mosque in Istanbul stressed that the stylistic supremacy of the Quran is part of its miracles and said while there have been many authors and orientalists who have tried to disprove the Quran’s Divinity, their efforts have all been in vain.
He referred to Tahaddi (challenging the opponents to produce anything like verses of the Quran) as a lasting miracle of the Book of God because no one has been able to bring anything like verses of the Quran 14 centuries after they were revealed.
“Muslims challenge everyone at any time to respond this Tahaddi if they have doubts as the whether the everlasting miracle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is not Divine”.
Kurlu said the fact that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was Ummi (unlettered) is another irrefutable proof of Quran’s Divine nature.
“It is an undeniable fact accepted by everyone, even many famous orientalists, that the Prophet (PBUH) of Islam could not read and write,” he noted, adding that despite this fact, the words and verses of the Quran are at the peak of eloquence, include prophecies about the future and depict the right path for life.
He went on to say that the Quran is also abundant with scientific facts which had not been discovered at the time of revelation and were known to mankind later on with the advancement of science. “Quranic references to creation of the earth and heavens, the way humans are born, embryology, numerical and mathematical miracles, predictions about the future and many other facts yet undiscovered all serve as proof to the Divine nature of the Holy Book”.
Born in 1976 in Turkey, Farhad Kurlu is a known calligrapher in the Islamic world. He has attended many calligraphy exhibitions and won the first title in the 5th international Islamic calligraphy competition held by the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA). He is a theology graduate and has been appointed as the Khatib (preacher) and prayer leader of Abdul Hamid Khan II Mosque in Istanbul by Turkey’s Religious Affairs (Diyanat) Department.
