PhD Program in Quranic Sciences to Be Launched

Religion and Medicine Research Center an affiliate to Baqiyatollah Faculty, is to admit PhD students in Quranic sciences in the near future.

Talking to IQNA, Eslam Aghapour, executive secretary of the strategic committee for Quranic research and medicine in the Ministry of Medical Education, said that “the center pursues its activities in five spheres, including traditional medicine, Islamic lifestyle, human sciences in religious and medical areas, as well as religious subjects in medicine.”
He further referred to about 20 research projects that have been so far conducted by the center, including scientific articles written on ‘honey’ and its benefits from the Quranic view.
Highlighting the necessity of applying the results of such researches in practice, he expressed hope that different organizations would cooperate to implement the findings in society.
Aghapour also said that the center is planning to launch a PhD program in Quranic sciences and further information on admission requirements would shortly be announced.
The applicants are required to be acquainted with Quranic sciences and medical issues so that they can apply for the interdisciplinary major.
