"from Classical to Contemporary Islamic Art" Exhibit Held

An exhibition 'From Classical to Contemporary Islamic Art' was organized at the International University in Sarajevo. Visitors from Sarajevo and Istanbul had an opportunity to see more than 70 artworks by Bosnian and Turkish artists.
The exhibition was designed to present several techniques and different approaches to the understanding of Islamic art; from classical, that use the traditional calligraphic styles, to contemporary interpretations of calligraphy and ornamentation.
The exhibition was attended by a large number of visitors and media representatives. The exhibition was opened by an interesting calligrapy presentation by Turkish artist İzzet Elitaş.
'From Classical to Contemporary Islamic Art' is one in a series of joint cultural events organized in Sarajevo by the Bosnian and Turkish associations.
The organizers of the exhibition are The International University, The Association of Artists Elif and The Association Plavi Leptir and Konya Cultural Center from Sarajevo.
