Call for Training 10 Million Memorizers Revitalized Quranic Community
The Supreme Leader’s instructions on training 10 million Quran memorizers have revitalized the Quranic community, head of Quran Cultural House told IQNA.
Ali Akbar Toupchi highlighted the importance of following the teachings of the Holy Quran, adding that “fortunately, the issue has received special attention following the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic community should be governed based on the Word of God.”
Referring to the Supreme Leader’s instructions on training 10 million Quran memorizers, he said: “The order implies that there are lots of Quranic talents in the country and we are capable of training them, as the Quranic programs are always well-received by the public.”
Calling for more interaction among Quranic centers, he noted: “Extensive efforts have been made by Quranic centers and organization to promote the Quranic culture in society; yet, we still need more organized plans to implement the tasks more systematically.”
“The Quranic organizations are required to cooperate in devising a comprehensive plan and do their utmost to support one another in fulfilling the Leader’s demand,” he remarked.
Toupchi further referred to the attempts made by the Ministry of Education such as launching 10,000 Quranic schools, adding: “However, the ministry should not be the sole organizer of such plans, as it has a limited capacity and needs to be supported by other centers.”
“The state of Quran memorization will be considerably boosted in the country once all the Quranic organizations and institutes cooperate with one another through the division of labor.”
He also elaborated on the objectives of memorizing the entire holy Quran, noting: “Quran memorization should be accompanied with understanding its lofty concepts and themes; this way, the memorizer will be deeply influenced by the Holy Book.”
“A good way to embark on the task is memorizing selected verses of the Book which are more helpful in our real life and can be truly effective in resolving lots of individual and social problems,” he further said.
