Mahfel Quranic TV Show Can Be Broadcast in over 50 Countries
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour made the remark in a meeting held Tuesday at ICRO’s headquarters in Tehran to discuss preserving the achievements of the Quranic television program.
Known for showcasing Quranic recitations and promoting Islamic teachings, the Mahfel TV Show is a well-regarded Iranian television series appreciated by audiences worldwide.
It is broadcast on IRIB’s TV 3 channel just before sunset every day during the holy month of Ramadan, offering a spiritual oasis for viewers as they prepare to break their fast.
According to ICRO’s Public Relations Office, the meeting was attended by Quran reciters Hamed Shakernejad and Ahmad Abolqassemi, two of the program’s hosts, as well as Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hashemi Golpayegani, producer, Seyyed Meysam Lajavardi, deputy head, and Mohammad Mehdi Sadeghi, international vice president of the Mahfel.
Honoring the memory of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour said Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei always emphasized the importance of Quranic diplomacy outside the country.
He added that the Islamic Republic's steadfastness today is the result of the martyred Leader's Quranic vision.
“In implementing international programs, cultural consultations always emphasize that the Quranic instructions of that divine Leader should be taken into account and serve as a guiding light.”
“Fortunately, the path that our martyred Imam created in the field of Quran is being followed with power by his rightful successor. Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei's emphasis in his recent messages on the realization of a new Islamic civilization is a sign of his attention to this issue of sustainable Quranic activities.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour further appreciated the efforts of those involved in producing Mahfel.
Abolqassemi said in this meeting that facilitating the export of Quranic products to the far corners of the world, which is being carried out today with ICRO as the centerpiece, is in a way a direct introduction of the Iranian nation and the nature of its religious revolution to the different nations of the world.
“I have been to more than 42 countries in the world in the past 37 years, and in these countries I had the honor of reciting the Quran and conducting Quranic activities. I dare say that the least expensive and at the same time the most effective cultural action in Islamic countries is to focus on Quranic works, which does not involve any political conflict or confrontation.”

He added that a Quranic ambassador is a pathfinder and can open doors in a situation where the country is facing all kinds of sanctions, threats, and even military attacks.
Meanwhile, Shakirnejad emphasized the need for synergy between Quranic institutions, saying, “I have been reciting the Quran for years in different countries around the world. Based on this background, I see the Mahfel program as a response to the needs of society today, which is being pursued and demanded with this quality and greatness today. The formation of this television program was a Quranic and cultural trend that has been pursued with all sincerity.”
Praising the supportive policies of ICRO in advancing these goals, Shakernejad referred to the impact of this trend in the field of cultural diplomacy and said, “In a meeting I had with the Spanish ambassador, he expressed his desire to hear Quranic concepts. This indicates the high capacity of this kind of spiritual measures and Iran's success in conveying the message of the Quran to international audiences.”
