People of Qom to Meet with Imam Khamenei on Tuesday
On the anniversary of the 1979 uprising of the people of Qom against the Shah, a number of people from the holy city will meet with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution this morning.
Different groups of people from Qom will attend the meeting at Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya (religious center) in Tehran to renew allegiance with Imam Khamenei.
Around 5000 individuals, including Basij members, seminarians and ordinary people will be present at the meeting. They arrived in Tehran earlier today.
Qom people’s meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution takes place every year on the occasion of anniversary of Dey 19(January 8) uprising.
On January 8, 1979, people took to the streets in Qom in support of the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and against the dictatorship of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
