New Islamic School To Open in Tajikistan

A new Islamic school is being set up in Mehnatobod region of Yovon Town in Khatlon Province of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, Baba Khawja Shaev, preacher and imam of the Grand Mosque of the region, said that the school will provide educational services for over 200 students.
The construction project of the school is expected to be completed by September 2013.
At a meeting with the preacher, Ghaib Allah Afdhalov, governor of the province promised to provide financial support for equipping the school.
The population of Tajikistan is 98% Muslim and there are around 4000 mosques in the country which are involved in educational and religious affairs.
