1000 Quran Copies Distributed in Mauritania

Mauritania’s Office for Islamic and Educational Affairs distributed 1000 copies of the Holy Quran in Tichit village near Nouakchott, the capital city.
According to AMI website, Seydi Muhammad Walad Al-Shawaf, advisor to the country’s Minister of Education and Islamic Affairs announced that the copies were distributed on the occasion of birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to enrich a festival being held in the region.
He added that the office also held an educational workshop for imams of mosques and preachers of the country on the auspicious occasion.
Tichit is a village at the foot of the Tagant Plateau in central southern Mauritania that is known for its vernacular architecture. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
