Quran activists such as reciters and memorizers ought to be present in political and social arenas as pioneers, a Quran master said.
Speaking to IQNA, Abdol-Rasool Abayi added that Quran reciters and memorizers should be aware the contemporary issues in the country, the Muslim world and other countries, so that they can play their role in political and social fields.
He referred to such events as elections, decision makings, and management of the society and said members of the Quranic community should do their parts in these affairs.
Master Abayi noted that Quran reciters and Quranic figures had a lofty status in society in the early days of Islam’s history and people would follow their advice keenly.
“Quran reciters are acquainted with the word of God and the Revelation and depending on how much Taqwa (God-fearing) they have and how much they act upon the teachings of the Quran, they are revered by people in the society.”
He added that Quran reciters are expected to be the first group in society to act upon the teachings of the Quran.
The Quran expert underlined that merely memorizing or reciting the Quran is not enough, but it is upon Quran reciters and memorizers to apply the Quranic teachings in their life.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Master Abayi urged the country’s Quranic organizations and institute to cooperate to spread Quranic activities among the youth.
