A Quran activist has underlined the effective role of Quranic community in promoting people's insight on political issues urging prominent Quran figures to have a more extensive presence in social and political arenas.
Talking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Touserkani Supreme Leader’s representative in Basij Mostazafin (mobilization of the oppressed) Organization, described responsibility of the Quranic community in increasing people’s insight as to religion and politics as heavy and said this can help people make the right decision.
Citing verse 11 of Surah Ar-R’ad the translation of which reads: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves”, he reiterated that Quranic figures should introduce the political teachings of the Holy Quran to people in order to help confront the concept of separation of religion and politics.
He further said that the theory of separation of religion from politics is a plot orchestrated by colonialists adding that they [colonialists] are seeking to promote such a theory which focuses on marginalizing religion from the different fields of human life including politics, government, science, moral principles, etc. with the aim of undermining Islam and its tenets.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the purpose of getting acquaintance with the Quran and added: “The main purpose is to prepare the ground for materialization of Quranic teachings and politics is a suitable ground for fulfilling such an obligation”.
